Horsepower® practitioner

Let the power of the herd become part of your toolbox

As a Learning & Development professional, you know that people make the real difference in an organization’s success. That’s why we offer an accreditation program for trainers, coaches, consultants and HR professionals in Belgium and the Netherlands. With the Horsepower® practitioner training, you’ll gain the tools to apply the Horsepower® archetype model and the Horsepower® tools within your own organization or with your clients.

3d clinic - Horsepower® practitioner

During this three-day training, you’ll learn to work with the four archetypal Horse Powers and discover how to translate these insights into leadership, team development, and personal growth. You’ll gain not only theoretical knowledge but, above all, practical tools to integrate the model into your programs, workshops, and HR processes.

This way, you strengthen your own practice with a unique methodology that goes deeper than traditional assessments: experiential, authentic, and directly applicable. Horses capture everyone’s imagination, and the natural wisdom and special dynamics of the herd provide the perfect metaphors to make people aware of their growth potential and to fully embrace their role within the human herd, based on their talents.

How does it work?

Before starting the Horsepower® accreditation, we begin with a short video intake. Together, we’ll explore whether you have the right background and motivation to begin as a Horsepower® practitioner. Afterwards, you’ll follow three intensive accreditation days in Zoutleeuw — right among the horses.

  • Day 1 – Horse Psychology & the Horsepower® theory
We explore how horses experience life and what their herd wisdom can teach us. You’ll get to know the four archetypal Horsepowers and dive deeper into the theory that underpins the model.

  • Day 2 – Fluid Leadership in Practice
You’ll experience for yourself the power of leadership within the herd. Step by step, we’ll walk through a Horsepower® program and discover how horses teach us to switch between different forms of leadership.

  • Day 3 – Guiding a Horsepower® journey from A to Z
On the third day, you’ll learn how to facilitate an inspiring introductory workshop yourself. You’ll discover how to apply the Horsepower® tools and framework in practice — both for everyday development needs and for client-specific challenges within teams and organizations.

What’s in it for you?

After successfully completing the accreditation training, you’ll be fully qualified to work independently with the Horsepower® toolbox — within your own organization or with clients. This not only equips you with a powerful instrument but also brings a range of additional benefits.

For the organization:

  • Save costs and time by enabling internal professionals to facilitate the workshops themselves.
  • Trainers and coaches who know the organization and its people from the inside create direct alignment and recognition.
  • What is learned becomes more quickly and sustainably embedded in daily collaboration and communication.

For you as a Horsepower® practitioner:

  • Unlimited and free access to the Horse Act Learning Academy.
  • The opportunity to expand your toolkit with additional products and methodologies from the Horse Act portfolio.
  • Become part of an inspiring community of Horsepower® practitioners — a network where knowledge, experiences and new ideas are shared.

This clinic is led by Ilse Melotte, author of Paarden Weten Beter (Horses Know Better) and the Horsepower® framework, founder of Horse Act, who transforms her passion and unique horse wisdom into meaning and direction for the human herd.

Am I suitable?

During the accreditation training, we prepare you to work independently with the Horsepower® model. You don’t need to be a horse coach — and you won’t become one. What we do expect is that you already have experience in guiding others. Whether you are ready to participate, we’ll explore together in a personal intake conversation. This gives us a clear picture of your background, experience, and motivation. What we consider most important: demonstrable experience as a trainer, coach, or facilitator, and an affinity with the mission and vision of Horse Act.

Practical Information

The participation fee for this 3-day clinic is €995 excl. VAT or €332 per day. The clinic will take place with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 participants. Timely registration is essential. Each participant is also expected to complete a Horsepower® scan with Horse Act prior to the start of the training. During the clinic, participants will work actively with their own personal report, allowing them to apply the insights directly to their learning process.

The 3 clinic days are organized on Fridays and spread over 2 months. This allows participants sufficient time to go through their own process, make space for homework, and internalize the insights.

Planned dates for 2026 are:

  • Spring series – Fri 17 April, Fri 8 May and Fri 29 May ’26 (in Zoutleeuw)
  • Autumn series – Fri 4 and 25 September and Fri 16 October ’26 (in Zoutleeuw)
  • Dates can be adjusted in mutual agreement.
Prefer a personal trajectory? That’s possible!
We offer the possibility to follow the clinic individually. It lasts 1.5 day — the first day at Horse Act, the second morning online — and costs €895 excl. VAT. Dates can be scheduled by mutual agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be or become a horse coach to become a Horsepower® practitioner?

No. As a Horsepower® practitioner you do not work as a horse coach, but with the Horsepower® tools and reports. You guide clients and organizations from A to Z throughout the process. The added value of the practitioner lies in interpreting the findings and recommendations from the EQ scans and translating them into the client’s context. You help teams and leaders not only gain insight but also guide them through the process of internalization, transformation, and implementation.

What does the accreditation program look like?

The training consists of two in-person days at Horse Act in Zoutleeuw and one online day. This way, you experience the power of working with horses yourself and learn how to apply the Horsepower® methodology concretely in your own practice.

What do I get after accreditation?

As a practitioner, you gain unlimited access to our online portal with video material, downloadable documents, questionnaires, templates, etc., as well as all Horsepower® reports of your clients. This ensures you always have the resources to professionally guide programs. You also become part of the Horsepower® community, where you can ask questions and share ideas.

Is there a better pricing arrangement for practitioners and their clients?

Absolutely! As a Horsepower® practitioner, you share in the revenue and receive a commission on the sale of Horsepower® products. Together, we’re building our community — and everyone benefits from it.

Can I also attend scans and assessments with horses?

Yes. As a practitioner you may participate as an observer during live Horsepower® scans and assessments of your clients. Within three working days you will then receive the official report, which you can use to support your team or coachee.

Do I have to work with horses?

Not necessarily. As a practitioner, you learn to use the metaphor of the herd and its wisdom in your work. Work with horses only takes place during scans or assessments and is always supervised by certified Horse Act coaches.

What if I (or my client) am afraid of horses?

Fear of horses is not a problem. As a practitioner you do not need to work intensively with horses yourself. For clients, there are also alternatives: during the Horsepower® live scan, observation can be limited to a safe distance (behind the paddock fence). This way, the program remains accessible to everyone.

Who is this program for?

The training is intended for trainers, coaches, consultants, and HR professionals who want to enrich their practice with a unique, experiential tool. You already have experience guiding people or teams and are looking for a methodology that goes beyond classical models.

What is the added value compared to traditional assessments?

Traditional assessments often measure skills or cognitive abilities. The Horsepower® scan goes one step further: it makes visible how someone actually behaves in the moment — in leadership, collaboration, communication, and resilience. The direct and honest mirroring behavior of horses provides insights that are not theoretical but tangible and applicable. As a practitioner, you translate these insights into the daily practice of your clients or organization.

You prefer to experience our Horsepower® model yourself?

Very good idea! Enroll for a personal live scan and experience our services from the inside out. Read and study your own report and share your feedback with us. We are happy to answer all your questions.
