Horsepower® master

Lead your own Horsepower® scan sessions with your own horses

The Horsepower® master training is an exclusive, individual advanced programme for professionals who want to deepen their expertise and conduct Horsepower® scans independently. This master-level training is only accessible to graduates of the Horsepower® practitioner (3-day programme) who are also certified equine coaches working with their own horse(s). Only those who meet both conditions can progress to this highest level of the Horsepower® methodology.

1d clinic - Horse Power® master

The master training is designed for equine coaches and leadership professionals who want to independently conduct Horsepower® scans, work with participants, teams and leaders at a professional level, and ensure that every scan meets the quality standards of Horse Act.

During the Master Training, you will learn the complete execution of the Horsepower® scan — from observation to intervention — enabling you, as a Master, to be recognised as an authorised practitioner of Horse Power® assessments. The final report will continue to be produced by Horse Act to safeguard methodological integrity, consistency, and quality.

This intensive day is personally delivered by Ilse Melotte, author and developer of the Horsepower® model and the Horsepower® scan.

What you will learn during this individual training

1. Executing the Horsepower® scan in practice: You will learn:
  • how to structure a scan from beginning to end;
  • how to observe and interpret energy profiles in real time;
  • how to recognise leadership responses, behavioural patterns and tension fields accurately;
  • how to shape interventions that are safe, clear and professionally grounded;
  • how to translate your observations into leadership and team dynamics.

2. Understanding the internal reporting system. We will walk through:

  • the structure of a Horsepower® assessment,
  • the core logic behind the model and its scoring principles,
  • the quality criteria required for all certified masters,
  • how to deliver your observations correctly so that a complete, reliable and professionally formatted report can be produced for your participant or client.

3. Practising with different horses: You will learn how to:

  • correctly interpret variations in equine behaviour,
  • make impact, congruence and leadership energy visible in the participant,
  • conduct scans that consistently meet the same professional standards.

sWhat does it offer?

After successfully completing the Horsepower® master training, you are fully qualified to independently conduct Horsepower® scans within your own practice, organisation or for your clients. You will be working with a powerful, sophisticated and professionally validated methodology that elevates your coaching and leadership programmes to a higher level.

This training provides not only a unique specialisation, but also a wide range of additional benefits.

  • For your practice or organisation:Independently conduct scans according to the Horse Act quality standard. You can perform Horsepower® scans yourself while maintaining methodological integrity, as the final report is still produced by Horse Act.
  • You work with an assessment that reveals leadership, energy, behaviour and congruence in a way no traditional instrument can match.
  • Greater efficiency in coaching and team development: The Horsepower® scan accelerates awareness, dialogue and behavioural change — making coaching trajectories more compact, deeper and more effective.
  • Quality assurance for all parties: Through access to the internal reporting system and fixed protocols, you work in a consistently professional, reliable and safe way.

And what does this mean for you as a Horse Power Master?

  • You achieve the highest certification level within Horse Act: As a master, you are recognised as a professional authorised to conduct scans independently. This positions you within an exclusive group of experts in equine leadership assessment.
  • A stronger professional identity as coach or trainer: You gain access to an instrument that adds authority to your work and provides tangible value for leaders, teams, HR professionals and organisations.
  • Access to the internal quality and reporting system: You learn to work with the official system behind the Horsepower® scan, ensuring your observations are translated into consistent, high-quality reports.
  • Deepening your expertise through structured intervision: Masters participate in regular intervision sessions where case studies, quality standards, ethics and refinement of the methodology are central. This ensures the method remains safeguarded, evolving and alive.
  • Ongoing support from Horse Act: You are not on your own: you operate within a network of certified masters and maintain direct connection with Horse Act for questions, guidance and quality monitoring.

Is this for me?

The Horsepower® master training is an advanced, high-level programme. It is designed for professionals who not only work with horses, but who want to guide leadership and behavioural dynamics with vision, responsibility and depth. This means you meet the following criteria:

1. You have successfully completed the Horsepower® practitioner: The master training builds entirely on the insights, methodology and approach of the 3-day practitioner programme. It is therefore essential that you fully master this foundation and apply it in your practice.

2. You are a certified equine coach: We value a shared professional framework, ethics and language. You have completed a recognised programme in equine-assisted coaching, have experience in safely guiding people with horses, and are certified or registered by a relevant training body.

3. You work with your own horse(s): As a Horsepower® master, you will conduct scans independently for your clients. This requires that you work with your own horse(s), know their behaviour and energetic patterns well and have access to a safe environment for coaching and assessment.

4. You aim to distinguish yourself through quality and depth: The master training is right for you if you want to go beyond intuition or stand-alone techniques and work with a professional, reliable and reproducible system. You want to offer your clients a complete and high-quality Horse Power report, take responsibility for both the assessment and the follow-up trajectory, and are committed to working according to the Horse Act quality standard.

5. You have a strong affinity with leadership, energy and behaviour: Because the Horsepower® scan is frequently used in leadership, HR and team development, interest in these fields is a major asset. You do not need to be a full-time corporate coach — but you are someone who: reads behaviour quickly, sees connections between human and equine behaviour, and enjoys working on personal and professional growth.

If you meet these conditions, you are suitable. More than that — a remarkable path awaits you. The Master Training is concise, intensive and deeply personal. You work one-on-one with Ilse Melotte and learn to master the full Horsepower® methodology, enabling you to conduct Horsepower® scans with confidence, impact and craftsmanship as a certified master.
